The features of canvas(1)

There are two methods to determine the density of warp and weft:

Direct measurement

The direct measurement is done by means of a cloth mirror or a fabric density analysis mirror. The scale length of the fabric density analysis mirror is 5cm. Under the analysis lens, a long strip of glass is engraved with a red line. When analyzing the fabric density, move the lens, align the red line on the glass and the red line on the scale with a certain two yarns at the same time, as a starting point, move the lens and count the number of yarns until the 5cm scale is for this purpose. The density value of 10cm fabric is obtained by multiplying the number of yarn output by 2.

When counting the number of yarns, the center between the two yarns shall be taken as the starting point. If the number reaches the end point, more than 0.5 yarns shall be counted, and if less than one yarn, 0.75 yarns shall be counted; if less than 0.5 yarns, 0.25 yarns shall be counted. Generally, 3-4 data should be measured for the fabric density, and then the arithmetic mean value should be taken as the measurement result.

Indirect test method

This method is suitable for regular weave fabrics with large density and small yarn count. After analyzing the fabric structure and the number of warp and weft cycles (the number of weft cycles), the product is the warp (weft) density.
